This is Port Isaac, Cornwall. It is a tiny fishing port on the north coast.
Everywhere you look, the village’s fishing industry is apparent.
The whole place has an old, tumbledown look to it, which is partly why Su and I love the place so much.
We arrived very late on Friday at 10pm. The next day, Su was very tired and had a good sleep.
We wandered along the coastal path and found an ice-cream van. Su couldn’t resist!
The cliff-faces have lots of caves. Last time we visited, I went in one but got scared and wouldn’t go any further.
The weather was fantastic; a beautiful blue sky and rolling blue sea.
We saw some very cute baby seagulls on the cliff edge.
This was taken in the evening at about 6pm. The sun was still shining brightly.
Su explores the harbour, snapping away with her camera. I really like this picture of her.
Another narrow street in the middle of the village.
Inside the harbour walls.
The fishing boats are moored using very long chains.
“Where are we going?” asks Su.
“You’ll find out...” I reply.
I stall as I can spot some tourists approaching. I take a picture of Su while I wait for them to pass...
...and then I’m down on one knee, asking Su to marry me! She replies “no!” with a giggle, closely followed with “Of course.”
The village is full of tiny narrow streets.
We left Port Isaac using this road; I could barely get my car up it!
Su finds some ‘jumpy bugs’.
Thirty seconds into our engagement.
